Fleet Space Technologies
A Brand South Australia film about Fleet Space Technologies and the application of South Australian space technology to mineral exploration.
The brief
Fleet's work spans satellites, advanced manufacturing, geoscience, data and mineral exploration. The film needed to connect those parts clearly, without flattening the technical detail or losing sight of the people building and using the system. For Brand South Australia, it also needed to place Fleet within a broader story of South Australian capability and innovation.
How it was made
The film was shot over two days with a compact, experienced crew. A principal interview provides the structure, supported by observational footage of Fleet's Adelaide manufacturing facility, its people, technical processes, components, data and geological samples. The visual progression moves from design and manufacture to the technology's use in exploration, allowing the relationship between each part of the system to be understood through the work itself.
What was delivered
A campaign film for Brand South Australia's South Australian Stories series, directed, filmed and edited by Ben Dowie. The finished piece connects advanced manufacturing in Adelaide with a practical application in mineral exploration, presenting the technology through both the people who create it and the environments in which it is used. Selected supplied and archival material was incorporated where the story extended beyond what could be filmed during production.
