The brief

Two 30-second commercials needed to connect large-scale mine operations with workers, regional towns, ports and the wider supply chain, while retaining a distinct sense of place in each state. Each film had to cover a broad operational footprint quickly, without allowing the scale of the industry to overwhelm the people and communities within it.

How it was made

Ground and drone cinematography covered operating mine sites, workplaces, communities and export infrastructure across Queensland and New South Wales. The production moved between wide views of the operations and closer observation of people at work, building a visual connection between extraction, regional employment, transport and export.

What was delivered

Two broadcast television commercials presenting the industry's operational and regional footprint in Queensland and New South Wales. Ben Dowie was cinematographer and drone operator, working closely with director David Parkinson and Stepney Studios to maintain a consistent visual approach across the campaign. The Queensland commercial is featured here.
